The journey to becoming a Dighton-Rehoboth graduate starts in PreK and grows stronger each year! Our Falcon represents the pride and spirit of #WeAreDR and the values in our Portrait of a Graduate. Now our students and our community are helping to choose a name that reflects all that our Falcon stands for.

Stay tuned to vote on your favorite Falcon name!

The winning classroom will be presented with a special prize that celebrates what it means to be part of Dighton-Rehoboth Regional Schools.

Students in the DES Drama Club are preparing for their exciting debut performance! Approximately 40 students in grades K–4 have been hard at work learning their lines, designing and creating props, and exploring the fundamentals of stage production as they get ready to present their upcoming show, The Paper Bag Princess.

This enriching opportunity was made possible through a generous Feinstein Grant and the dedication of our outstanding staff advisors—Ms. Farley, Ms. Rubano, and Ms. Nunes—who have guided students every step of the way. We are so proud of our young performers and can’t wait to see them shine on stage!

📚 Book Vending Machine Success at DES! 🦅

Our new Book Vending Machine has been a huge hit at DES! Today, SRO Bennett helped a student pick out a book after she was “Caught Doing Good.” Moments like these make celebrating positive choices even more special.

We love recognizing our Eagles for the great things they do every day. Keep up the amazing work!

🦅 Great job, Eagles!

We’re loving all of our guest readers this week for Read Across America Week! 📚✨

Today, Superintendent Runey visited Mrs. Duarte’s Grade 4 class to read Where to Hide a Star by Oliver Jeffers, sharing a wonderful story that sparked imagination and curiosity. Earlier this week, Assistant Superintendent Dr. Souza read the hilarious picture book I Don’t Want to Read This Book by Max Greenfield to Ms. Cornell’s Kindergarten class, filling the room with laughter and excitement.

We are so appreciative of our guest readers for taking the time to visit our students and celebrate the joy of reading. Moments like these help empower, ignite, and shape a lifelong love of learning in our schools. 📖💛💚

Thank you to everyone who helped make this week so special!

Today our Grade 1 students had a very special visitor as part of Read Across America Week! We were thrilled to welcome Representative Thurber, who joined us to read "The Book with No Pictures" by B.J. Novak.

Our students were fully engaged, laughing and participating as Rep. Thurber truly brought the book to life with his enthusiasm and expression. The fun didn’t stop there — he enjoyed the story so much that he stayed to read it again during Mrs. Grillo’s Grade 4 library class!

Thank you, Rep. Thurber, for visiting DES, sharing your time with our students, and helping us celebrate the joy of reading. Experiences like this inspire a love of books that lasts a lifetime!
