October 21-25, 2024 This week, we celebrate the incredible work of our school bus drivers and remind our entire community about the importance of keeping our students safe on the road. 🚸 Safety Tips for Students: ✔️ Be on time for your bus stop. ✔️ Stay 10 feet away from the bus while waiting. ✔️ Wait for the driver's signal before crossing the street. ✔️ Stay seated and listen to your driver. Safety Reminders for Drivers: 🚨 Always stop when the bus has its stop sign extended. 🚨 Be extra cautious in school zones and bus loading areas. 🚨 Slow down, especially when you see flashing yellow lights. We are seeking a dynamic and knowledgeable Automotive Technology Teacher to join our Career and Technical Education (CTE) program. The teacher will be responsible for delivering high-quality instruction in automotive repair, maintenance, diagnostics, and safety. Today began NOT as a typical day. I was excited for our first “official” Day of DR Pride. As I walked across each campus with Dr. Souza, one thing became evident: despite having five schools across two towns, we are united as ONE DR! AND…THE WINNER IS…Beckwith Middle School. Your District Pride has won you an opportunity to paint my hair green & gold!! Great job! I will work with Dr. Donovan and Mrs. Abrams to determine the date and time. Today, we had a great New Student Orientation where we got to meet our new DES students and families. Thank you to everyone who was able to join us and got to tour the building and visit classrooms. We can't wait to welcome everyone back next week. #WeAreDR

Thank you to the Dighton PTO for hosting a great Playdate in the Park. Students got to enjoy meeting and playing with peers as well as listening to stories from the librarians from Dighton Public Library and DES. DRSEPAC and Assistant Superintendent Dr. Souza were also in attendance greeting families.

DES Preschool Open House for Parents and Students will be on September 5th with a session for AM students and a session for PM students.

DES Open House for Grades 1-4 will be on September 3rd. Students can bring their school supplies, meet their teacher, and see their new classroom.

Do you have a student who is new to DES this Fall? Make sure to come to our New Student Orientation on August 28th to tour the building and meet with administration.
